The Association of British Tamil Lawyers Announces its Advisory Committee

LONDON, January 31, 2022 – Ahead of its launch on 31 January 2022, the Association of British Tamil Lawyers proudly announced that it will be supported in its objectives by preeminent lawyers joining its Advisory Committee to provide strategic guidance and advice.

Ms Vasanti Selvaratnam QC is a leading Silk and Joint Head of Chambers at the 36 Group Chambers. Practising as both Counsel and Arbitrator in across a wide range of industry sectors, she is ranked in Tier 1 for shipping and commodities in Chambers & Partners 2021.

Dr S Chelvan is a globally recognised legal expert and Counsel on refugee and human rights claims based on sexual or gender identity and expression. Dr Chelvan is the Head of Immigration and Public Law at 33 Bedford Row Chambers. As the leading expert in the UK in the field of LGBT+ asylum, he has spearheaded some of the leading cases since 2005 as well as provided consultation to the United Nations (UNHRC) , the IOM, national government departments, lawyers and NGOs.

Mr Kamal Arulvel is a Partner in the Financial Industry Group of Reed Smith LLP. He is an expert in advising lenders and borrowers on all types of real estate finance transactions globally.
